Elevada’s work is an easy but monotonous one. She is the manager of a quaint tea shop that serves strange brews. Aside from the strange tea-making contraptions inside the shop, it’s a quiet life without any excitement.

It’s a game that made me pause. That made me confront things about myself I hadn’t fully put into words. That made me feel—deeply, achingly, unexpectedly.

Because that’s all we can do, isn’t it? We can’t control everything. We can’t control who stays and who leaves. We can’t control how people feel about us, how our stories with them end, or whether they end at all. The only thing we have power over is ourselves. That’s the lesson Wanderstop leaves us with.

Clearly, Boro has taken a tea leaf out of their book and created the world's slowest machine. Alta can add flavors with delicate precision, or blindly chuck any old thing in there and see what comes out.

As Boro reminds Alta at one point, just because you can’t take the decorations you love with you, is that any reason not to make your surroundings more beautiful while you’re here? Isn’t decorating for the sake of enjoying your own personal space enough on its own?

Because, no. It’s not okay. I want to know. I was invested in his story. I wanted to see him succeed, I wanted to keep teasing him about how lame of a knight he was, I wanted him to continue being a part of Elevada’s journey.

Also, there are Pluffins, which are adorable little penguin guys with giant eyebrows who live in a coop on the Wanderstop grounds.

Foraging is another key part of the process. Tea leaves are scattered throughout The Clearing, waiting to be picked. I do wish we could also plant our own tea bushes, but alas, Wanderstop Gameplay foraging is the only way. We also gather mushrooms, which can change the properties of the fruits we use—sometimes in expected ways, sometimes in ways that completely surprise us.

This colossal lifestyle change usually takes place within a simple opening cutscene, a quick dusting of lore before we get to the real meat of the game: growing turnips.

So let’s start with the narrative—because, make no mistake, Wanderstop tells one of the most nuanced stories I’ve experienced in this genre.

As notificações em cima Destes personagens me deixaram aflita de modo a tentar resolver as tarefas o mais rápido possível, este qual vai totalmente contra a proposta de que o game deseja entregar.
